AEM Report Shows U.S. Tractor and Combine Sales Down 19% in August 2024

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's (AEM) monthly report, total sales of all U.S. tractors during August 2024 were 16,831, down 19% from 2023.


For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down 22% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 16%. For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are down 15% from 2023, while 40 & under 100 HP are down 9%.


For the month, sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 18%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 5%. While for the year, sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 8%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 5%.


Total number of combines sold for the month were 619, down 20% versus 2023. The total number of combines sold for the year are 3,933 a decrease of 18% over the same period in 2023.
