Back in July, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released a proposed rule on “Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings.”
According to a filing through the Federal Register, OSHA will accept public comments on the proposed rule until December 30, 2024.
0ºF. Other requirements include developing plans for workers unaccustomed to working in high heat.
Overall, the agency estimated that the net cost of heat illness protections would be less than 0.5% of revenues in an industry and geographic region that would be most significantly affected by the proposed rule.
