Before and After Photos of Lake Oroville, Now at 100% Capacity

Lake Oroville, California's second largest reservoir, has reached 100% capacity for the first time since 2012. Oroville can hold 3.5 million-acre-feet of water, and sits behind the tallest dam in the country, the Oroville Dam at 770.5 feet.


According to the Department of Water Resources, storage at Lake Oroville has risen more than 240 feet and gained more than 2.5 million acre-feet of water since December 1, 2022.

Back in September of 2021, Lake Oroville's water levels were at their lowest ever recorded, at just 628 feet, and 24% capacity. But as of earlier this week, water levels in Lake Oroville were nearly 900 feet and at 100% capacity.
