USDA Purchases Over $78 Million Worth of Almonds for Food Assistance Programs



The Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced an award solicitation for Section 32 of almonds. The award is for over $78 million dollars worth of almonds for distribution to child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for the fiscal year of 2023 as indicated below.


The purchase is the result of offers received in response to Solicitation No. 2000009408 which was announced on June 15, 2023.


The almonds were purchased on an f.o.b. destination basis with deliveries to be made from August 15, 2023, thru December 31, 2023.


The purchase has multiple contracts in Nevada, California, and Arizona.


California Contracts:

  • Fruta Royal LLC - Visalia CA

    • 113,960 Cases = $7,008,478.40

  • Guidry Liason Group Inc - Temecula, CA

    • 212,520 Cases = $12,238,595.60

  • Mariani Nut Company - Winters, CA

    • 20,020 Cases = $1,230,629.40

  • Pearl Crop Inc - Stockton, CA

    • 471,240 Cases = $28,391,470.80

  • Stutz Packing Company - Indio, CA

    • 244,860 Cases = $13,486,506.88
