On Wednesday, the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service released the 2023 California Grape Acreage Report. California’s wine grape acreage is estimated at 610,000 acres. Of the total acres, 570,000 were bearing and 40,000 were non-bearing. While California's table grape acreage totaled 125,000 acres with 120,000 bearing and 5,000 non-bearing.
The leading wine-type varieties continued to be Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Flame Seedless was the leading table-type grape variety.
